The Blue Jabiru site uses the below described technology and standards.
We are strongly committed to using available standards and, where possible, validate against their specifications. However, we are not necessarily committed to providing backward compatibility to older technology, and we fully anticipate problems with non-standards complying browsers. Further, we would like to remind users that we are limited in our time and resources to test the site against all possible permutations of hardware and browsers.
The following standards have been used:
All pages have been validated against the W3C XHTML 1.1
specification.
All pages have been validated with respect to the W3C CSS2
specification.
The site has been tested, and should work without problems, using the following browsers:
- Safari v1.0 (on Apple Mac)
- Netscape v7.0 (on Apple Mac)
- Internet Explorer v5.2 (on Apple Mac)
We, regrettably, report the following known bugs, problems and incompatibilities:
- Opera v6.03 - drop-down menus do not display correctly; otherwise no known problems.
Credit and Thanks to the following organisations and individuals:
- PVII Development, A List Apart, MaKo and countless other sites - for introducing us to the strange new world of CSS, providing tutorials, code samples and invaluable support in general.
- Irene Proebsting Design - for artful comments and keeping us motivated.
- The Australian Museum Online - for wonderful details on Australian fauna; in particular the Jabiru.
